Created using an enlarged reconstruction of The Circus Maximus by Paul Letarouilly. The drawing has been cut through images of an audience watching early Gladiator films in Fellini’s “Roma”. The central arena contains repeating images taken from Ridley Scott’s Gladiator from 2000. The rear layer of the work is a reversal of the Piranesi drawing of the Colosseum.
