Austin, Texas, famous for its music scene and location for a number of well known films. The top layer in this work traces the major traffic arteries and is cut through record covers such as The 13th Floor elevators, Spoon, The Moving Panoramas, Stevie Ray Vaughan and a fragmented image of the UT tower.
The middle layer contains four reproductions of an 1887 illustrated map of Austin, the upper part of which has been cut through with an architectural drawing of the State Capitol building. Below this and along the river portions of the the iconic Austin film “Slacker” and the book cover for the Austin novel “Midnight Assassin” can be seen.
